Pogo's pool games have been online favorites for many years. How many I'm not sure of, but I have personally been playing them for about a decade. In fact, when I first started playing Pogo Pool it was called "Hammerhead Pool" and was played on a blue table with a hammerhead shark logo on it. Things have changed a lot since then, but the one thing that hasn't changed is the amazingly accurate "realistic" game play, that mimics a real game better than anything else I have yet encountered online.
There are plenty of reasons these games continue to bring in big numbers as far as players are concerned. You can interact with others online by not only playing against them, but also by talking with them. You can customize your player's name by adding images to it, or making a mock picture of yourself called a "pogo mini". Recent newer rooms called "high stakes" are the most popular form of playing these days, as you "bet" on each game played and either win or lose tokens that allow you to "buy" items for your personalized names/nicks/minis used at pogo.
For me, the REAL reason Pogo Pool continues to grow in popularity is the game play itself. As mentioned, it is probably the closest thing to a real pool game that you'll find online. It hasn't changed over the years, so might seem a tad "primitive" these days, but it hasn't changed for a reason! The balls travel at the right speed, bounce correctly off the walls, and the player has full control over the english and strength of the shot he or she uses. Truly it is quite amazing when one thinks of the work involved in making such a game. Best of all, it is ABSOLUTELY FREE to play. Sure, there are plenty of ways to spend cash at Pogo if you so desire to, but it isn't necessary at all to play the games there ;)
There are 2 major games playable, both 8 ball and 9 ball. There is also a "cut throat" game involving 3 players, but this option isn't nearly as popular as the others are. "Normal" rules apply for these games, with the option to call or not call shots, set the timer for each shot, etc.
Now you may wonder to yourself WHY I would go through the trouble to create this section of MisterX.ca? After all, what's there to know about an online pool game? You make an account, go into a room, aim and shoot, play or lose, life goes on and that's all there is to it, right? WRONG! There are MANY people who take this game VERY SERIOUSLY, and they have become true PROS at it. These people have an advantage over others, and these people rack in points and tokens because of it. HOW do they do it? Well that's what I'm going to discuss here, as it is THAT that drove me to become one of those "pros" myself! I know that if I had had a site such as this to help me out in my "early days", I would have become a "pro" much faster, and hopefully it can do the same for YOU!
It can be very frustrating for new (or "newer") players, as they will often encounter pros while they play. Professional players often make new names for themselves and quickly rise up through the ranks, (I personally have no problem making a new name "red" in a few hours of play!). So I am attempting to make the playing field a little more "fair" by sharing my "secrets" here for all that are interested in knowing them. Sure, you'll need to practice...a LOT...to become as good as the pros are, but with this information you CAN become one and truly give them a run for their money!
Sure, ANYONE can win a game of pool at Pogo. You could beat me in a game RIGHT NOW and without reading the info found herein, BUT, the info here at MisterX.ca WILL make you win more often, MUCH more often, and will give you that edge you're looking for! ;)
